MY Markos Pro
Custom e-shop for a Cyprus distributor of professional hair-care products: 850+ products in Greek, English and Russian, stock imported from Powersoft and pickup at three stores.
The challenge
The problemMY Markos Pro has distributed professional hair-care products in Cyprus since 1997. It has stores in Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos and sells to the public as well as to salons and barber shops. The old WordPress/WooCommerce shop had messy categories, with typos, duplicates and many empty ones. Product types were mixed into the hair-type filter, and most product texts were only in English. The company also needed an admin simple enough for staff without technical knowledge to use every day.
Our solution
What we builtWe replaced WordPress with a custom PHP e-shop, built from scratch without a framework, and rebuilt the catalogue around the way salons and home customers shop.
- 8 departments and 52 subcategories, with filters that fit each category (brand, hair type and concern, capacity, dye type and more)
- Smart search that understands Greek, Greeklish and English
- Colour charts for hair-colour lines: customers tap the shades they need and choose a quantity for each one
- Stock levels imported from the Powersoft ERP by CSV upload, with a preview before anything is applied
- Greek as the main language, with English and Russian versions made with a built-in AI translation tool; hand-written corrections are never overwritten
- Separate professional accounts for salons and barber shops, with an application and approval step
- Cash on delivery across Cyprus, or free pickup from any of the three stores with payment at the store
- An admin in Greek plus a live editor, so signed-in staff can fix texts, photos and product options directly on the shop page
The results
The impactThe new shop went live at mymarkospro.com in October 2026, and the old WordPress site was removed. It now lists 850+ products with 1,900+ product codes (sizes and shades) in Greek, English and Russian. Old WordPress addresses redirect (301) to the matching new pages. Images are served as AVIF/WebP, the layout is mobile-first with a bottom tab bar, and the footer carries the online withdrawal button that EU law requires.
